The very site you're reading this on!

I’ve had a personal website in some form since at least 2014, but I’ve never been truly happy with it - it was mostly just a blog, but I never really blogged much. Over the years, I’ve created tons of side projects, and those felt a lot more characteristic of me than random blog posts I wrote when I was 14, so I decided to rebuild my site from the ground-up to be more focused on me.

This is the result. I’m fairly happy with it, and I think it’s uniquely distinctive while still remaining lightweight and usable.

Tech stack

I built this site using Astro, which I’d used before to make my girlfriend’s portfolio. I love how fast it makes development, which I was desperatedly needing — all my previous attempts to recreate my personal site ended up abandoned because I simply ended up wasting too much time on boilerplate.

I also used Tailwind CSS for styling, which I’ve been using for a while now and I’m very comfortable with. I’m not a designer, so I like how it allows me to focus on the functionality of the site without worrying too much about how it looks.

All in all, it’s fairly boring, but that’s exactly the point. It works, it’s fast, it’s unique, and it’s easy to maintain. If something goes wrong, I know exactly where to look, and I can just fix it.
